Here are the steps Windows 7 Optimization Tips

1. Remove  software that you never use

A new computer or laptop is often already equipped with a variety of programs that can not be used, such as trial versions of programs or deliberately limited version is installed into the computer for you to try and if you like, you can buy it. If you do not like it, just delete this kind of software. Because the software would take your resources, both on disk and memory.

Notice also the applications that you never wear. We may be used to allow some programs we've ever installed in the past, but probably never use it again. Search this kind of application and uninstall it.

Also check the antivirus application, backup, CD reader, and others. Such applications are usually called at startup, stay in memory and makes your computer seem slow. If you do not need it should be deleted.

Go to Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs, uninstall programs you do not use.

2. Limit the program to be called during boot / startup

Some developers make their programs are called at startup, so we remember to use it. But often these programs may not be useful for you. See the icon in the bottom right hand side next to the clock, whatever the application program is there? Do you need it? If not, find the setting so that the program was not called at startup.

Courses are generally invoked when the startup, among others:
- Messenger (YM, MSN, Skype)
- Antivirus
- Application of the touchpad (for laptop / notebook)
- Application of scheduled automatic (update, backup, defrag, etc.)

Find the settings in those programs so that was not called during the startup of windows. Or press to: start -> type 'msconfig' in the search field, click the tab 'Startup', uncheck the programs you want to get rid of the Startup.

3. Defragment Hard Drive

If you frequently install or remove programs, or move files / folders are large, then the hard drive will leave a small portion of the program and it can spread everywhere in the disk. Consequently when we call a certain file or program, working extra hard drive to find the file or program that is required. This is called the 'fragmented' or fragmentation.
Fragmentation on the hard disk makes the computer work harder, because the hard disk looking for data / files / programs in widely scattered locations. The solution, do defragm periodically so hard you work more efficiently. Press Start -> type in 'Disk Defragmenter' in the search.

4. Clean Hard Drive

The files that are not in use and can make your laptop / computer becomes slow. Dispose of the files in the recycle bin, temporary folder and Internet browser's cache.

5. Avoid running multiple programs at the same time

If you do not really need to, run fewer applications simultaneously. Applications that run together (multitasking) would be more resource consuming.

6. Turn off visual effects

If Windows 7 feels slow, you can turn off some visual effects. You must choose a good view or velocity. If your computer / notebook is equipped with a fast processor and large memory, then you do not need to do this. But if you are not satisfied with the performance of your computer, here's how to turn off the visual effects:

- Open Performance Information and Tools in a way, tap Start - Control Panel, in the search box (the search box) input Performance Information and Tools, and select the Performance Information and Tools from search results

- Select Adjust visual effects, click the Visual Effects tab, and click the Adjust for best performance and then click OK. Or you can select Let Windows choose what's best for my computer, so it looks not too down drastically.

7. Perform restart

If you rarely turn off the computer / your notebook, doing restart periodically. Some people prefer to turn off the laptop via hibernate or standby, so if you want to use it again, a laptop can be turned on more quickly. But it will accumulate data in memory, so the laptop longer, more felt slow. If you belong to this group, do Restart more often.

8. Check for viruses and spyware

Viruses and spyware are often also causes the computer feels slow, because the viruses and spyware are usually called at boot time and stay in memory. Even some of the virus accidentally meets your memory and slows his work.
Use antivirus and antispyware to scan your computer.

9. Upgrade your memory and processor speed

If you feel you've done steps 1 through 7 and still feels slow. You need to check the specifications of the laptop / computer. Do they fulfill the specifications Specifications recommended by Microsoft? If it turns out you still do not meet specifications, upgrade your memory, or upgrading your computer with a faster processor
