Windows Vista Optimazation

There are a few tips for optimizing performance of windows vista
1. Turn off the [Windows Search Indexing] Windows Vista search indexing is constantly checking the files that exist on the system. This is quite useful for the search function, but can cause a significant impact on performance. To turn off indexing: Click [Start] then [Computer] - Right-click on the drive [C:] - In the tab [General], clear the selection [Index this drive for faster searching]. In the dialog box that appears, select to include the changes to the subfolders and files. Do the same if there are any other drives have more than one partition / harddrive.
2. Turn off the [Remote Differential Compression] Remote Differential Compression measures the changes in the files on the network to be able to send the file with a minimum bandwidth without having to send the whole file has been received / sent earlier. It is quite useful actually, but with the constant checking of the file changes, these services can disturb the system performance. To disable this service: Open the [Control Panel] - Move to display [Classic View] Select [Program Features] - Select [Turn Windows features on and off] - Scroll down and clear the option [Remote Differential Compression].
3. Turn off automatic operation [Windows Defender] Windows Defender real-time protection will continue to run despite being disabled. To disable this service: Open the [Control Panel] - Select [Windows Defender] - Select [Tools] from the menu at the top - Select the [Options] - Clear signs [Auto Start].
4. Turn off the [Automatic Disk Defragmentation] Windows Vista and the always-on defragment feature is not too important and can cause a decrease in performance (while Defrag is running). If you want to disable this service, remember to do the defrag manually every few weeks or if diperlukan.Untuk turn off this service: Click [Start] then [Computer] - Right click on the drive [C:] - Select the tab [Tools] Click [Defragment now] - In the window that muncuk, clear choice - [Run on a schedule] Do it on another drive if needed.
5. Add USB High-speed Flash drive 2GB or more and take advantage [of Windows Ready Boost] (Additional Memory Cache) Ready Boost is the name used by Microsoft for use of USB thumb / flash drive to provide faster memory access on the operating system and can be used as additional RAM. Ready Boost can improve system performance significantly. To use this feature: plug [USB Flash Drive] - Click [Start] then - [Computer] - Right-click on the drive [USB Drive] in [My Computer] - Select the tab [Ready Boost] - Select [use this device] - Choose the size that you want to use the USB space for [RAM usage vs.. Storage].
6. Turn off the [Windows Hibernation] Service [Windows Hibernation] could use resources that large enough systems. If this feature is not used too often, it's better off to give extra performance on vista and free up space used for the hibernation file (amount depends on the amount of RAM). To disable this service: Open the [Control Panel] and select [Power Options] Click [Change Plan Settings] - Click on [Change Advanced Power Settings] - Go to the option [Sleep] Go to the option [Hibernate After] - Change the option to 0 (zero) - Click [Apply] - Make other plans at power.
7. Turn off the [System Restore] Analysis and restore point creation by Windows Vista can eat a fairly large system resource. Keep in mind, turn off this service means that the features [System Restore] can not be used in case of errors or system failure. To disable this service: Open the [Control Panel] then select [System] - Click [System Protection] on the left panel - Clear your choice [to play the system drive] - Accept confirmation.
Eight. Turn off the [User Access Control (UAC)] The new features of Vista to try to protect the system from malware infection by making the user to manually confirm to all users of daily operations (TT_TT vexing, i inow). While these services do not negatively impact the performance system directly, this can be quite disturbing for some users. To disable this service: Open the [Control Panel] and select [User Accounts] - Select [Turn User Account Control on or off] - Clear the option [User Account Control] - Restart the system.
9. Turn off the [Windows Services] excessive run automatically at startup. Just as Windows XP, Vista has by default many of the services loaded at startup that may not / rarely used users (especially the Ultimate version). To see what services are loaded at startup and disable the no / rarely used (can be loaded manually if necessary): Open [Control Panel] - and then select [Administrative Tools] - Select [System Configuration] - Click on the tab [Services Tab]. That can be safely disabled: [Offline Files] (except to use the service [Offline Files Sync]) - [Tablet PC Input Service] (except for use tablet PCs) - [Terminal Services] - [Windows Search] (if indexing has been disabled) - [Fax] (unless using a fax modem)
10. Turning off excess features Windows also includes other features which are listed separately with a startup service (read the tips 9). These features can be found and deactivated by the way: Open the [Control Panel] and select [Program Features] - In the left pane, Select [Turn Windows Features on or off]. That can be safely disabled: [Indexing Service] - [Remote Differential Compression] - [Tablet PC Optional Components] - [Windows DFS Replication Service] - [Windows Fax & Scan] (unless using a modem for fax) - [Windows Meeting Space] (except to use the service [Live Meeting])
Plus extra for Vista Networking For security reasons, vista networking change the function of the overall operation of the menu in the system. Unlike Windows XP, a way of setting up the Network and Sharing center in control panel there will certainly be a bit confusing, even though you just want to make sharing files or printers in your local network. The first step you need to do is make sure that your local network have the same workgroup name, including your computer. In Vista to access this menu, the menu system on the control panel. Second, would be much easier if you use a username and password on every computer that is joined to the network and you can perform user settings in the user account control panel. Next you are ready for setting up network and sharing center. Here's who will appear in a window on your monitor: • Network Discovery: On This function will make your PC visible in the network. • File sharing: On Same function with the File and Printer Sharing in Windows XP. • Public folder sharing: On (Default) This function is one of the advantages in Vista, where the public folder sharing is that you can use to share the network with many users. In the folder, you can store images, videos, and music. And then exchanged with other users. This function is the same as ordinary folders, the only difference you were able to share those folders with just one click. • Printer sharing: Off (Default) This function is so that you can perform printer sharing in the network. • Password protected sharing: On This setting is useful as a good enough security. Only valid users who have registered can access the folders you are sharing. You also can disable this function, but with the consequences of all users who connect to the network can do anything to any folder you are sharing. We recommend to let this function in the On condition, of course for better security. • Media sharing: On This function is not too useful, unless you want to stream music or video into the device XBOX or any other PnP devices. And let the state On, yet also does not affect anything. The last step you need to do to make sharing a folder is simply right click on the folder you want sharing, just like in Windows XP. If you follow all the steps above, you will be offered a default menu that is "Share to your username only and with owner rights assigned." Click again to select that option.
